Famu

2020 - ongoing

Famu is a documentary project about my grandmother and the relationship between us.
Famula is a place where I always feel at home. One day it will disappear and only memories will remain. Over time, they will fade and change. That is why I want to capture changeless glimpses of the real reality in images. Famula is not just a physical person and his home, but the deep and strong bond between the two of us is the foundation of everything. My relationship with famu has always existed. In this work, I want to delve into our relationship and explore its meaning for both of us. Our grandmother-grandchild relationship has always included mutual care. Both give and receive love and care in return. Being together is carefree and rich. Famu keeps up with the times and I get to hear about times gone by. I have noticed that the busy pace of life has separated generations  from  each other. Many people live in their own bubble, separated from their roots and history.

I want to use my own experience to encourage others to maintain connections with their grandparents. It gives both parties content and meaning to their lives. Too many elderly people are lonely because there are hardly any forms of housing multi-generational living spaces anymore.
